The situation in Afghanistan could have a major impact on the world order, especially after the attack near Kabul Airport on Thursday, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman said on Friday, calling for an end to the violence in the country.
“We are certainly not happy with this situation,” Grlic-Radman said on the sidelines of a conference of Croatian ambassadors, consul generals and military envoys, which is taking place at the Westin Zagreb Hotel.
At least 85 people, including 13 U.S. soldiers, were killed on Thursday in two blasts caused by the Islamic State near Kabul Airport.
The Croatian minister expressed his condolences to the families of U.S. soldiers and to all those who “lost their loved ones” in those attacks.
“Those attacks are aimed at destruction and killing, that must be stopped,” said Grlic-Radman, stressing that all parties in Kabul “should talk and negotiate”.
He called on all parties to get actively involved in stopping the conflicts, “so that innocent civilians would not get killed and there wouldn’t be a humanitarian disaster aimed at a migrant exodus”.
He said that “the situation in Afghanistan must be stabilised, and order, peace, and security and respect for human rights should be established”.
