Italian jazz and soul singer Mario Biondi will perform on Thursday, August 2, at St. Michael's Fortress in Sibenik, with other exciting events announced throughout August, in a venue billed as the most beautiful open air stage on the Adriatic.

The medieval fortress, overlooking the Dalmatian city of Sibenik and offering spectacular views of the nearby seaside, accommodates around 1,000 people in its open-air auditorium, and will host a number of international musicians for performances throughout the summer.

Following a concert by American songwriter Laura Pergolizzi, better known as LP, who chose the fortress as the venue for her first ever appearance in Croatia on July 25, the performances will continue throughout August.

On Thursday, August 2, Italian jazz and soul sensation Mario Biondi will perform his hits “This is What You Are”, “Shine On”, “What Have You Done to Me”, and others. The audience will also hear new songs from his latest album Brasil, which features elements of soul, jazz, pop and Brazilian standards, as well as collaborations with renowned Brazilian musicians.

On Saturday, August 4, the famous Austrian electronic music duo Kruder & Dorfmeister, known for popularising downtempo and trip hop genres in the 1990s, will perform a 4-hour set at the fortress, accompanied by a visual and lightning show.

Ten days later, on August 14, the acclaimed British singer and songwriter Róisín Murphy, will take the stage. Best known as the frontwoman of the dance trip-hop duo Moloko, Murphy is a unique and recognisable artist who left an indelible mark on Britain’s dance and electronic music scene. The concert at St. Michael’s Fortress will see Murphy perform her well-known combo of enchanting whispers and rich vocals, in a blend of daring dance rhythms and smooth twenties’ jazz styles.
