One more person in Croatia is infected with coronavirus, bringing the total to six, while test results are pending for two more persons, the national civil protection authority said on Saturday.
"We have tested 176 persons. We are waiting for the results for two and among those tested is another positive, close contact of the infected person in Rijeka," Health Minister Vili Beros said at the daily press conference. "The situation is still under control, although we have an escalation as in other European states."
The latest positive patient does not have grave symptoms and feels well, said Alemka Markotic, head of Zagreb's Fran Mihaljevic Infectious Diseases Hospital. She added that the other two patients from Rijeka were also well, as were the three in Zagreb, and that all were family members or close.
The head of the Croatian Public Health Institute, Krunoslav Capak, recommended to citizens not to shake hands when greeting each other "in this period of the epidemic" because infection with COVID-19 can be transmitted via hands.
