A money transport carrying cash from Serbia to Kosovo was robbed on Monday morning in northern Kosovo, local media reported.
Police spokesman Besim Hoti said the robbers used at least two vehicles to intercept the Henderson company vehicle, adding that they were armed. “The robbers were driving down a back road to Mitrovica but were intercepted by a police patrol and the thieves crashed their Skoda Octavia car,” he said.
Hoti said the robbers managed to get into the second car, an Open Zafira and drove off towards the town of Podujevo. The police recovered part of the 18 million Dinars (around 150,000 Euro) that was taken from the money transport.
The Henderson company had one of its vehicles robbed at the Jarinje crossing into Kosovo in May last year.
