Contacts of people infected with the Omicron variant of coronavirus do not have to quarantine if they have received a booster dose, have recovered from COVID-19 in the past three months or have been vaccinated following recovery, the Croatian Public Health Institute (HZJZ) said on Tuesday.

All the other contacts of persons infected with the Omicron variant have to go into 14-day quarantine and should get a PCR test at the start and on the last day of the quarantine period, the HZJZ said in its amended recommendations.

If suspicion of infection with the Omicron variant is ruled out, the 14-day quarantine is discontinued and contacts are treated as in the case of exposure to earlier virus variants, the HZJZ said.
