A total of 2.6 million arrivals and 11.9 million overnight stays were generated in commercial accommodation in Croatia in June 2018, which is 4 percent more arrivals and 1.5 percent fewer overnight stays than in the same month in 2017, the national statistics bureau reported on Friday.
In the first six months of 2018, there were 6 million arrivals and 22 million overnight stays, up 12 percent and 19 percent respectively on the year.
In June 2018, domestic tourists generated 234,000 arrivals, up 13 percent on the year, and 781,000 overnight stays, a 14.4 percent increase compared to June 2017.
In the same period, foreign tourists recorded 2.4 million arrivals and 11.1 million overnight stays, up 3.2 percent and 2.4 percent respectively compared to June 2017.
German tourists generated the most overnight stays – some 2.4 million, or 21.8 percent of all overnight stays by foreign tourists. They are followed by Austrians, with 1.1 million stays, or 10.2 percent of all stays by foreign tourists.
