Nearly 90 percent of Croatians consume milk and dairy products at least sometimes, a survey published by the JaTrgovac retail trade magazine showed.
In the survey, which polled nearly 400 Croatians from across the country in November last year, 89.7 percent of respondents said they consumed milk at least sometimes, with 22.8 percent of milk drinkers saying that they only consume milk in their lattes.
Two thirds, or 64.1 percent, reported that they consume milk daily, and another quarter (25.9 percent) said they drink milk several times a week. A large majority of 71.6 percent said they preferred long-life processed milk as opposed to fresh milk.
When asked to list dairy products that they use, various types of cheese topped the list (89.2 percent) followed by yoghurts (82.4 percent), ice cream (72 percent), milk spreads (71.9 percent), sour cream (69.9 percent), and puddings (53.5 percent).
Only 2.3 percent of everyone polled said they never consume any dairy products.
