Thirteen new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Montenegro on Friday, bringing the total number to 82, the country's public health institute said.
The largest number of infections, 31, were reported in the municipality of Tuzi, which has fewer than 15,000 residents.
Among those infected is a doctor from Bar, and several of his colleagues are in quarantine. Medical workers from clinics in Andrijevica and Herceg Novi have been in quarantine from before. As of Friday, some of the medical staff in Bar are in quarantine as well.
The Montenegrin government has said that a total of 4,275,477 euros and 42,000 dollars has been paid into the bank account opened by the national coordination team for infectious diseases to help in the fight against the spreading of the disease.
Donations have been made by foreign investors, private and state-owned companies, successful athletes, as well as the inmates of Spuz, the country’s best known prison.
