Representatives of university and scientific institutions from the quake-hit areas in Zagreb, Zagreb County and Krapina-Zagorje County were on Wednesday presented with contracts, worth HRK 2.14 billion, concerning grants for their post-quake reconstruction.
Addressing the contract-awarding ceremony in Zagreb, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said the grants were intended for the reconstruction of university and scientific infrastructure.
A share of this aid will be provided from the EU Solidarity Fund and some of the means will be ensured from Croatia’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
He recalled that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen would arrive in Zagreb on Thursday to inform his cabinet of the EC’s decision to give its green light to Croatia’s recovery plan.
The education component within that plan envisages HRK 7.5 billion, that is a billion euros, for education, he added.
