In the past 24 hours Slovenia registered 3,829 new cases of the novel coronavirus, which is 124% more than seven days ago, and the government is considering new restrictions that should go into force as of Monday.
Despite the spread of the Omicron variant, the government is still not planning to introduce mandatory vaccination, school will be live, however, rules in aged-care facilities will be ramped up as there has been a surge of cases in these facilities, even though a high percentage of residents has been vaccinated.
A total of 10,083 tests were conducted in Slovenia in the past 24 hours, confirming 3,829 new cases of contagion while another five people have died as a consequence, the National Institute for Public Health said on Thursday.
The Ministry of Health said that there are currently 550 hospitalized Covid patients and 150 are intensive care units.
The seven-day daily average has increased to 2,385 while the 14-day incidence rate has increased by 12% and is now 1,093 per 100,000 population.
