Due to a falling interest in vaccination against Covid-19, Croatia will introduce so-called "vaccination buses," and the first one should hit the road next Monday, state agency Hina reported on Tuesday, citing Health Minister, Vili Beros.
Upon the invitation of Virovitica-Podravina County Prefect, Igor Androvic, the head of the Croatian Public Health Institute, Krunoslav Capak, and Minister Beros “should attend the promotion of the new Covid vaccination bus on Monday,” Hina said.
The importance of “doing the job of vaccination right” was, according to Deputy Prime Minister Boris Milosevic, one of the topics discussed at the meeting between county prefects, members of the government, and Prime Minister, Andrej Plenkovic, on Tuesday.
Hina explained that Covid vaccination buses would tour counties with scheduled stops in smaller towns and villages, some of which have no health facilities in their area, to offer vaccine shots to Croatians living in rural areas.
“We are changing the paradigm, instead of inviting citizens to get vaccinated, we are meeting them halfway. We want to send a message that Croatia is a safe tourist destination,” Hina quoted Beros as saying.
