Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic on Thursday received outgoing Chinese Ambassador Xu Erwen and they said the Peljesac Bridge would remain a symbol of the friendly Chinese-Croatian relations, Jandrokovic's office said in a press release.

The two officials agreed that Croatia and China nurture friendly relations and have very good cooperation in the economy, trade, tourism and culture.

They also agreed that there is room to intensify economic cooperation and trade as well as a wish to introduce direct flights between the two countries, which would increase the tourist turnover.

Jandrokovic invited his Chinese counterpart Li Zhanshu to visit Croatia and to the opening of the Peljesac Bridge next year, which will also be an opportunity to mark 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Jandrokovic also thanked the ambassador for her work on the strengthening of Croatian-Chinese relations.
