Tourism and Sports Minister Nikolina Brnjac on Thursday signed agreements, whose total value is HRK 224 million, on financing public needs in sports, as part of the scheme for allocating funds to umbrella sport associations.

“Despite the challenges facing us due to the pandemic, we have paved the way for national sport alliances to prepare for the Olympic and Para-Olympic Games, in Tokyo and in Beijing in 2022 alike,” Minister Brnjac said.

The necessary funds have also been ensured for active school and academic sports, she added.

“In parallel to the conclusion of these agreements, which enable the successful functioning of professional and school sports, also HRK 1.5 billion has been secured for jobkeeping measures in the sport system as state support for the sport and tourism sector,” Brnjac said.
