Since 27 February, the reception centre set up in Osijek’s Jug residential area has registered about 100 Ukrainian refugees, and most of them are being accommodated with their friends and relatives in Osijek-Baranja County, the county’s civil protection team reported on Monday.

So far, 32 Ukrainians have been taken care of in accommodation facilities prepared by the civil protection team.

The head of the Osijek-Baranja civil protection directorate, Mato Lukic, today called on all Ukrainians who have arrived in this part of Croatia to register at Red Cross branches which will enable them to exercise their rights.

Earlier on Monday, the Croatian government decided to introduce temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine. Croatia will grant temporary protection to several categories of displaced persons who have left Ukraine since 24 February.
