Plenkovic extends condolences on Ukrainian plane's crash in Iran

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has extended his condolences to the leaders of Ukraine, Iran, Canada and Sweden on the crash of a Ukrainian plane in Iran which killed 176 people, the government said on Wednesday.

Plenkovic “deeply regrets and extends his condolences to the people of Ukraine, Iran, Canada, Sweden and others with victims in this tragedy, notably the families of all the fatalities.”

A Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737 en route from Tehran to Kiev crashed this morning after taking off and burst into flames. All 176 people aboard were killed: 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, including nine crew members, ten passengers from Sweden, four from Afghanistan, three from Germany and three from the UK.

Plenkovic sent letters of condolence to prime ministers Oleksiy Honcharuk of Ukraine, Justin Trudeau of Canada and Stefan Lofven of Sweden and Iranian Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri.
