Agricultural producer prices jump 16.8 pct in Q3 2021

Average producer prices of farming products in Croatia in Q3 2021 increased by 16.8 percent year-on-year, according to report released by the state statistics bureau.

Prices of plant products jumped by 24.7 percent and prices of livestock, poultry, and other animal-sourced products grew by 1.1 percent. The increase in prices was due to prices of all groups of products, except olive oil.

Prices of cereals in Q3 2021 increased by 29.3 percent, prices of forage plants went up by 31.9 percent, prices of vegetables by 18.2 percent, prices of fruit by 5.5 percent, prices of wine by 11.9 percent, and prices of industrial crops by 51.7 percent. Prices of olive oil dropped slightly by 0.5 percent.

Prices of cattle grew by 1.2 percent, prices of poultry grew by 1.8 percent, and prices of milk by 0.1 percent, while prices of pigs dropped by 6.7 percent and prices of eggs by 0.9 percent.

Prices of farming supplies in Q3 grew by 20.4 percent from Q3 2020, mostly due to rising prices of fodder and fertilizers, of 29.3 percent and 70.7 percent respectively. Energy prices grew as well, by 29.5 percent, as did prices of plant protection products, by 4.2 percent, seeds and seed material, by 2.9 percent and veterinary services, by 2 percent.
