At the end of May 2021, mandatory pension funds in Croatia had 2.07 million members, 37,600 more year-on-year. Their net assets increased by 12.8 billion kuna (€1.7 billion) over the same period to total more than 125 billion kuna (€16.7 billion), state agency Hina reported on Friday, citing data released by regulators.
At the end of May, eight open-end voluntary pension funds also operated in Croatia, with 340,000 members, as well as 20 closed-end voluntary pension funds with 44,730 members. Their net assets totalled 7.1 billion kuna (€948 million), an increase of 1.03 billion kuna (€137 million) or 17 percent year-on-year.
