Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic on Friday received Japan's Ambassador to Croatia Misako Kaji to thank her for the excellent organisation of his recent state visit to Japan where he held several meetings at the highest level, the parliament's public relations office said in a press release.

During his meeting in Japan Jandrokovic was received by Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako.

He also met with the prime minister Shinzo Abe, the speakers of both houses of parliament, several ministers, Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui, and Kyoto Prefecture Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki, parliament recalled in the press release.

Those meetings confirmed excellent and friendly relations and the wish to further deepen them.

Jandrokovic and Ambassador Kaji agreed that the official visit to Japan serves as a good basis on which both countries can continue to boost their bilateral relations, the parliament’s press release said.

In light of intensifying parliamentary cooperation, Jandrokovic once again sent an invitation to the speakers of both houses of the Japanese parliament and the inter-parliamentary friendship group to visit Croatia.
