Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded 1,251 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, the first time since December that the case count exceeded 1,000 per day. Over the past 24 hours, 48 Covid-19 patients have died, Bosnia's health authorities confirmed.
The highest single-day case count since the pandemic began was recorded in Bosnia on 31 October 1995, when 1,995 new cases were confirmed.
The Tuesday results came from 4,681 lab tests performed on those who had reported having coronavirus symptoms.
With the new spike in coronavirus cases across the country, Bosnia and Herzegovina now has 14,062 active Covid-19 patients.
A total of 138,542 cases have been reported in the country to date, including 119,135 recoveries – 370 of those in the last 24 hours.
The country’s Covid-19 death toll to date now stands at 5,345.
