In the last 24 hours there have been 3,166 new coronavirus cases in Slovenia, with a test positivity rate of 38.1%, the country's health authorities reported on Wednesday.
This is the second highest number of new cases since 5 January, when 3,428 new daily cases were reported.
Hospitals across the country are currently treating 526 COVID patients, and 133 of them are in intensive care.
The death toll has increased by nine more cases.
Slovenia’s seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 people is now 1,965, and the 14-day incidence rate has reached 1,052.
The government has announced stiff penalties for violations of anti-epidemic measures.
