Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Veterans' Minister Tomo Medved are expected to hold a meeting in the near future with Operation Flash military commanders whom Bosnia and Herzegovina prosecutorial authorities want to see prosecuted, Jutarnji List reported on Tuesday.
The Bosnia prosecutor’s office had send an international letter of request for legal assistance to the Croatian Justice Ministry regarding 14 commanders whom the Bosnian prosecutorial authorities accuse of having taken part in issuing orders in areas controlled by the Croatian Army for non-selective shelling of and artillery attacks against civilian objectives and the undefended towns of Bosanska Gradiska and Kozarska Dubica where a number civilians were killed.
The letter of request was received last Friday, the Croatian Justice Ministry reported on Monday.
The letter of request is based on a report made 16 years ago in Banja Luka. Sources available to the public in Republika Srpska and Croatia state that on May 2, 1995, the Croatian Army shelled and launched MIG attacks on Bosanska Gradiska in which Dajana and Nemanja Gojic were killed and their parents and a three year old girl Una Tadic were severely injured.
Croatian state news agency Hina learnt unofficially that Croatian judicial authorities had not contacted the 14 commanders.
Although the entire Croatian state leadership agrees there are no grounds to process the Croatian Army commanders, there are different opinions about what is the best response to the letter of request, according to the daily.
