All the vice-presidents and members of the State Election Commission (DIP) will on 20 July decide which vice-president will be serving as DIP acting president until a new Supreme Court president, who by nature of their office also acts as DIP president, is appointed, DIP said on Monday.
Explaining how DIP will function after incumbent Supreme Court President Djuro Sessa’s term in office expires, DIP says that according to the relevant rules, if DIP’s president does not nominate the vice-president to replace them, then all DIP vice-presidents and members elect a new president.
DIP recalls that all of its vice-presidents and members took an oath before the parliament speaker and that the two DIP vice-presidents who are judges are appointed by the general meeting of the Supreme Court.
The Commission notes that its other two vice-presidents and remaining members are appointed by the parliament.
