Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic on Sunday sent condolences to the family of Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic, who passed away from a heart attack, underscoring that Bandic's distinctive style in managing the city and many projects have left a mark for several generations of local residents.

Jandrokovic says he was shocked by Bandic’s sudden death and conveys his heartfelt condolences to the mayor’s family.

Mr Bandic has one of the longest political careers in Croatia. Since 2000 when he was elected for the first time as Zagreb Mayor until now he has marked the politics of the capital city during his six mayoral terms, Jandroković says. in his letter of condolence.

His relentless energy and perseverance were unquestionable and he will be remembered for his recognisable approach, the parliament speaker wrote, among other things.
