The number of industrial jobs in Croatia fell by 0.4 percent in December 2021 from the previous month and by 0.3 percent from December 2020, according to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Month-on-month, the largest drops were recorded in the manufacture of machinery and equipment (-2.1 percent), the manufacture of textiles (-1.6 percent) and the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (-1.6 percent), while the largest increases were observed in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (+5.2 percent) and the manufacture of beverages (+2.9 percent).
Year-on-year, the largest decreases were recorded in the manufacture of textiles (-15.7 percent), the manufacture of other means of transport (-13.5 percent) and the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (-10.8 percent).
The largest increases were reported in other manufacturing (+9.2 percent), the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (+8.9 percent), the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (+4.5 percent), the manufacture of electrical equipment (+4.2 percent), the manufacture of tobacco products (+3.7%) and the manufacture of machinery and equipment (+3.5 percent).
The cumulative data for 2021 show that the total number of industrial workers was 0.7 percent lower than in 2020. At the same time, labor productivity increased by 6.9 percent and industrial production by 6.0 percent.
