Sarajevo-based Medimpex company failed to deliver the necessary documentation to proceed with the procurement of Sputnik V vaccines against coronavirus for the population of Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) region, the FBiH Public Health Institute said on Wednesday, reminding that the deadline to compile the documents expired Tuesday midnight.

Acting at conclusions of the FBiH Government, the Public Health Institute signed the contract with the company on March 18, defining the conditions for the vaccine procurement which among other details included the deadline for the delivery of the necessary documents as well as the time frame for the delivery of vaccines.

But, the company management informed the Institute they did not receive the documents they need from Russia to proceed with the purchase, said a brief statement the Institute issued Wednesday morning.

The Institute informed the Government about the latest developments and is waiting for the new instructions relevant to this procedure.
