Croatia's Lucija Lesjak on Saturday defeated Czech Martina Sachova in the match for the bronze medal in the women's +68 kg competition during the world karate championships in Dubai.

Apart from Lisjak's bronze, also Andjelo Kvesic won the bronze in the men's +84 kg competition after he defeated Spanish karate fighter Babacar Sackho Seko.

The world championships in the United Arab Emirates end on Sunday. Nearly 1,000 karateists from 105 countries have participated in the event.
