Roma ethnic minority MP Veljko Kajtazi said on Saturday he would prefer one joint commemoration for the victims of the WWII concentration camp Jasenovac this year but added that, to his knowledge, there would be two again.

“I’m for one commemoration, but my personal opinion and the information I have indicates that there will be two this year again because the conditions we set haven’t been met,” Kajtazi told Hina in Lipovljani when asked about an earlier statement by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, who said a joint Jasenovac commemoration was underway for the Alliance of Anti Fascist Fighters, the Jewish community, Serbs and Roma.

“I will attend both, although we Roma commemorate our Jasenovac camp victims every year on August 2,” he said.
