An explosion occurred inside a sewer system between the Topping and Platforming units of the oil refinery in the Croatian seaport of Rijeka at about 13 o'clock on Saturday, and no one was injured in the accident, the Ina oil and gas company stated in a press release on Saturday afternoon.
The production in the plant was suspended and the refinery was evacuated.
An investigation is underway into the causes of the accident, and material damage evaluation can be expected.
