Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic handed over 20 keys to apartments in Vranjacka Banja Saturday to refugee families from Bosnia and Croatia.

“Memories can’t be erased, but I’m sure we’re making new memories today, guaranteeing everyone here peace and a sense of calmness and home,” Dacic said.

He recalled that the construction of these apartments was part of the Fourth Regional Housing Subprogramme worth €18.6.

The Foreign Minister said that many institutions and people were involved in this “big project” and that it was a true example of mutual support and cooperation between the European Union and Serbia.

He stated that 4,261 flats will be built under this Subprogramme and that 1,233 families would be cared for.

The ceremony was also attended by the EU Delegation representative, Stefan Hudolin, Head of the UNHCR Representative Office in Serbia Hans Schoder, as well as Refugee and Migration Commissioner Vladimir Cucic.
