The Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Most party on Thursday said in parliament that the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina recently adopted a declaration that advocates a Bosniak unitary policy and called out the Croatian government for not reacting strongly enough to the declaration.

SDA’s declaration contains a series of elements that cannot simply be overlooked, MP Josko Klisovic (SDP) said.

He assessed that the civic state that SDA advocates in that document in today’s circumstances in the country is not leading “anywhere but toward taking over state institutions and Bosniak outvoting of the other (two constituent) peoples.”

MP Nikola Grmoja (Most) underscored that the declaration is aimed at implementing a Bosniak unitary policy. However, he did not hear any “strong reaction by Croatia’s authorities,” to the declaration.

We all know what is happening with Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that they are being outvoted, and now there is an intention to transform Bosnia and Herzegovina into a civic state with Bosniak domination, Grmoja claimed, adding that some of the responsibility for this also lies with Croat leaders in that country headed by Dragan Covic.

MP Miro Kovac of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) recalled that HDZ in fact had initiated that the Declaration on the Status of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina be adopted and “regrets” that Bridge did not recognise its value at that time. Had we shown consensus then, this declaration would have had a stronger effect, Kovac said.

The debate preceded the adoption of an annual report on the implementation of the Strategy and Law on Relations between Croatia with Croats Abroad adopted by the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.
