"Western Balkans are strategically important to NATO," and "NATO should advocate a reform of Bosnia and Herzegovina's electoral legislation," Croatia's Foreign Minister, Gordan Grlic-Radman, said at an online meeting of NATO foreign ministers, state agency Hina reported.
A statement from the Croatian Foreign Ministry also quoted the minister as saying that “support to Bosnia and Herzegovina should be stepped up and that the engagement in Kosovo should continue,” Hina said.
“The Minister also said that NATO and its member-states should advocate a reform of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s election law to enable legitimate representation of all three constituent peoples and avoid discrimination of citizens in Bosnia’s institutions,” Hina said, quoting the unsigned press release sent by the Foreign Ministry to the media.
NATO foreign ministers met on Tuesday ahead of a summit of leaders of NATO countries, to be held in Brussels on 14 June.
