
Croatia's ministry of agriculture said on Tuesday that since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, 675 million kuna (€90 million) had been paid in grants to support 18,000 beneficiaries in the farm and fisheries sectors.
The government disbursed 153 million kuna from the state budget to help farmers and fishermen to tackle the corona crisis, an additional 112 million kuna was secured from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and the remaining 410 million kuna from EU agricultural funds.
The ministry also points out coronavirus loan schemes which the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) and he HAMAG BICRO agency have prepared to help businesses in the agricultural sector to overcome the corona crisis.
The ministry notes that until the end of this year, another 100 million kuna would be paid in grants to the livestock farming sector.
