Slovenia has confirmed 138 new cases of the coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours, with a test positivity rate of 8.6% following 1,610 PCR tests, which are figures similar to yesterday, but epidemiologists are saying that the epidemiological situation is deteriorating.
There are currently 1,293 active cases in Slovenia, the seven-day rolling average is 112, and the 14-day incidence rate continues to increase and is at 61.3 per 100,000 inhabitants, the National Institute of Public Health said.
There are 28 COVID patients in hospitals, including eight in intensive care.
If the current trends continue and the vaccination rate of 38.9% does not increase significantly, experts forecast that Slovenia, which is currently a green area according to the criteria set by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), could become an orange area as early as next week, and then a red area in early September, media outlets report.
