In the past 24 hours there have been 144 new coronavirus infections and one related fatality in Slovenia, the country's government reported on Friday.
Even though the number of new cases is lower than on Thursday, epidemiologists continue to warn about deteriorating indicators, noting that vaccination is the best way to have a calmer autumn when a new wave of the epidemic is expected as a result of the new, Delta variant.
According to data from the national public health institute, the weekly average of infections in a single day has risen to 118, and the 14-day incidence to 65.4.
There are 1,379 active cases, and 39.2% of the population has been fully vaccinated.
The country’s Covid-19 death toll so far is 4,430.
