Croatian Air Traffic Control (HKZP) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German company DFS Aviation Services (DAS) in a bid to modernize its services and position itself as a regional knowledge center for air traffic control, HKZP said on Thursday.
The memorandum was signed for a period of two years and will cover future projects for air traffic service providers and airports in southeastern Europe, HKZP said in response to a query from the state news agency Hina.
HKZP has had several successful projects with DAS, and now they will intensify cooperation through additional training projects and joint participation in consulting and operating projects for air traffic service providers and airports in southeastern Europe.
HKZP said it had invested HRK 117 million (€15.6m) in increasing capacity and air traffic safety in the last two years and had established a national training system for air traffic controllers, becoming a regional leader.
