The National Council overseeing the implementation of the 2021-30 Corruption Prevention Strategy held an inaugural session on Friday, concluding that it was necessary to enhance the strategy.
Council chairman Nikola Grmoja of the opposition Most party told the press the Council would hold another session at which its members would give their proposals on how to prevent corruption, “which is in every pore of Croatian society.”
The Council also discussed the Conflict of Interest Commission in the wake of a High Administrative Court decision, Grmoja said, adding that a special session will be held on this too as well as on the perception of corruption in connection with judges from Split.
He announced that the Council will also address corruption in the police and science.
