Over the past 24 hours, 248 new coronavirus cases have been registered in Slovenia. As the number of positive tests is rising, Slovenia has entered the so-called "orange zone" with authorities announcing stricter measures for non-vaccinated Slovenians in the fall, Croatia's state agency Hina said on Thursday.
The authorities announced tighter restrictions for “work, mobility, education and other activities.” The vaccinated-recovered-tested rule will be “the main criterion for activities in health and social institutions, sports and public life in general,” the head of the Slovenia Public Health Institute, Milan Krek, told Slovenian state radio.
The 14-day incidence has risen from 83 to 90, but there were no new Covid-19 related deaths in the said period.
Forty Covid patients are currently hospitalised, including six in intensive care. To date, 40 percent of Slovenia’s 2.1 million population has been fully vaccinated.
